You’re right. He’s humble. That’s because he’s Canadian. lol I used to watch him perform at Second City here in Toronto in the late 70′s. He was always amazing..
Quite right. Jack Benny once famously advised a young Bob Newhart that, “A comic says funny things. But a comedian says things funny.” Martin Short epitomizes that distinction. A good “comic” comes up with funny jokes and one-liners, which certainly takes talent. But a comedian like Short could read from the phone book, or simply count to ten, and still be funny. What an artist!
The reason why his stories are so freaking hilarious is because he doesn’t take himself seriously. He’s a modest comedian!!!
